Dredging

||| Dredging activity

Dredging is a type of hydrotechnical activity, which is the extraction of earth masses from the bottom of a shipping channel or water area by means of specialized suction equipment and subsequent loading onto a ship for removal to a depot. In the event that the landfill is close to the dredging site, it is possible to push the suctioned material through pipelines through which it is transported to the disposal site, such as caissons or geotubes for coastal protection.

||| Cleaning of deposits

  • Cleaning of accumulated sediments in the water areas of ports - correction of the bottom, deepening of ports in order to increase the maximum draft. The same can be done for rock masses on the seabed by breaking them up, removing them and hauling them to the disposal site.

  • Cleaning of water areas, estuaries and others using a bucket and long arm crawler excavator.

  • The deepening of the docks provides sufficient clearance and enables ships to maneuver and berth.
